Compatibility and System requirements
Hardware:
- Intel Pentium ® 400 MHz or equivalent (800 MHz or higher recommended)
- 256 MB of RAM (512 MB or higher recommended)
- 25 MB of available disk space
- a color monitor capable of 800 x 600 resolution (1074 x 768 recommended)
Software:
- Microsoft Excel 2007
- Microsoft Windows 2000 or later
Installation
The setup program is meant for Windows computers, so if you have a Linux or MAC operating system, please use a Windows emulator (this is a module that allows you to run Windows software on MAC or Linux systems. MIX 2.0 does not work on MAC because Office 2008 fo Macintosh computers does not have a Ribbon (the fancy new interface in Excel 2007) and is not VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) compatible. Don't be mad at me, talk to Microsoft about it... Perhaps things will change with Office 2010...
Some words on updating Excel 2007...
An important prerequisite for MIX to run without problems is to have your version of Microsoft Office 2007 fully updated. The easiest way to ensure your Office is fully updated is to use the Microsoft Update software. This is NOT the same as Windows Update; the latter only updates Windows, whereas the former updates Windows as well as other Microsoft software, including Excel, on your system. Another option is to go to the Microsoft Office website and use the Office Update software that can be run from there.
