Do your Meta-analysis with MIX 2.0 in Excel

MIX 2.0 is your one-stop software for meta-analysis. It's easy to use, cheap (free if you are a student from a developing country), and extremely comprehensive. It comes in two flavors: a free Lite version for learning and teaching and a paid Pro version for scientific purposes. MIX 2.0 works with Excel 2007 in Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7. It can be started from a software shortcut icon on your desktop or in your start menu. MIX 2.0 is actively maintained and updated with new features often. If you'd like to be kept up-to-date on developments, register for the mailinglist here.

Although MIX 1.7 for older versions of Excel is no longer updated, it is still available at the old website.

NEW DESIGN AND NEW FEATURES

MIX 2.0 is almost entirely rewritten and has become even more comprehensive and user-friendly than MIX 1.7. MIX 2.0 uses the ribbon interface and works as a regular add-in, meaning that you can use it while still accessing all other features of Excel. It has a comprehensive graphical user interface that integrates a new structured approach to meta-analysis of exploration, synthesis, and evaluation.

A Lite and a Pro version

MIX 2.0 comes in a Lite and Pro version. The Lite version is meant for those wanting to learn or teach about meta-analysis. It contains 20+ of the data sets used in the most authoritative books on meta-analysis and is ideal for use in educational environments. However, users cannot create or load custom datasets. MIX 2.0 Pro on the other hand, can create and edit their own data sets in the easy spreadsheet interface of Excel.

Incredible graphing capabilities

MIX 2.0 has a substantial number of new numerical features as well, but the graphical capabilities will exceed your expectations. The graph labeling function has been brushed up extensively. Including up to six columns with data in the forest plot itself is now an option. And this is all inside Excel 2007, so you can customize the graphs as you like with the familiar Excel right-click menus.
